Imperial College Union is pleased to announce the recruitment of a new permanent Managing Director, following an extensive process just ended.
Tom Newman, an experienced leader within students’ unions and currently Director of Membership Services at Imperial College Union, has been appointed to the role.
Hayley Wong, Union President, commented regarding the announcement:
Tom is a student-focused leader who has the understanding and skill to build upon the momentum Imperial College Union has gained under its Back to Basics strategy. The selection panel were impressed by Tom’s strategic thinking and his commitment to collaboration across the Union and wider Imperial College communities. I very much look forward to working with Tom in his new role.
On his appointment, Tom Newman said:
I am delighted to take up the position of Managing Director at Imperial College Union. The Students’ Union at Imperial has much potential to enrich and enhance the experience of its students, and I am excited to continue to work with the Union’s Trustee Board, Officers, staff and members to increasingly make that potential a reality.
Tom will take up the post of Managing Director on 1 October 2022.
